Spooky Ghosts From Cheesecloth
October 28, 2014

We have spooky times ahead! No, not the upcoming elections...Halloween! One easy decoration for this time of year is the Cheesecloth Ghost. They are easy tomake and fun to hang.

You will need the following list of materials:

thread
1 - pair of scissors
starch or fabric stiffener
cheese cloth
Styrofoam balls
black felt - or googly eyes
glue
a small, empty water bottle

Okay now that you have all of your materials. Begin by cutting a few 8x8 inch squares of cheesecloth or larger depending on how large you would like your ghosts
to be.

Take the small water bottle and place the Styrofoam ball on top of the water bottle. This will create the base for your ghost.

Dip the cheesecloth in the fabric stiffener and remove and excess. Be certain that the cloth is fully covered so that it will form into the shape that you desire.

Place the cheesecloth on top of the Styrofoam ball and drape it over the bottle. Form your ghost into any shape that you wish and let it dry overnight.

Once the ghosts are dry, it is time for the fun part...decorating your ghost! First start with the eyes, you can use the googly eyes or cut out oval shapes in black felt
and glue them onto your ghost. You could add bows for girl ghosts or little bow ties for boy ghosts. Use your creativity and let your ghost have it!

After the ghost is decorated you can keep the Styrofoam ball inside your ghost and add a thread for hanging or you can remove the ball and hang your ghosts over
strings over lights for a spooky effect.

Now go and creep outyour house and have a very spooky holiday!
